That’s how Len Freeman’s first Florida broker/employer described him after a few days on the job twenty-six years ago. And he’s just the same today. Len’s phenomenal real estate career began in Putnam County with a jump-start from an extensive background in agriculture and construction in the Midwest. Known throughout Florida as the “Farm and Land Man”, he acquired a real estate broker license in 1981 and assisted buyers and sellers with agricultural, commercial and residential transactions worth nearly fifty million dollars. He served as the President of the Putnam County Board of Realtors and in a variety of other offices. His tenure on the Multiple Listing Service committee saw the first computerization of the local MLS. His growing admiration for the beautiful St. Johns River prompted a move from the private side of business to the St. Johns River Water Management District Land Acquisition Division in the early 90’s. Serving as Sr. Land Acquisition Agent, Len often refers to those years as “Truly the Golden Years of conservation lands acquisition”. He is credited with participating in the purchases and protection of over a quarter million acres at a cost of one half billion dollars. Len retired in September to devote full time to serving as the President of Good Earth Realty and Auction Company. While a young farmer in Illinois, Len worked part-time with a close friend in the “Auction Barn” business. He soon began to acquire a unique auction chant that has entertained audiences of buyers far and wide. Now a licensed Florida Auctioneer, Len has combined a real estate career with his passion for auctioneering to create a unique service now available to buyers and sellers of all types of property in northeast Florida. |
