(PALATKA, Fla.) Real estate auctions have hit the First Coast with a bang.
“Buyers are going to get some great real estate deals – but they may be at home sitting in their recliners when it happens.”
That is the prediction from Len Freeman, a veteran Putnam County Realtor who has recently added Internet real estate auctioneering to his company’s marketing toolbox. Freeman’s business, Good Earth Realty and Auction Company, has teamed up with the National Association of Auctioneers to provide this unique and cutting edge approach to selling real estate.
On Saturday, March 18, the power of the world-wide-web will bring buyers from anywhere on the planet to Good Earth’s auction. Six homes with appraised values ranging from $100,000 to over $750,000 will go on the auction block at the Riverfront Inn ballroom in Palatka at 11:00 a.m. Also up for sale are more than 25 parcels of land scattered around Putnam, Marion and St. Johns Counties.
“Buyers will be able to bid on more than 30 properties in Putnam and St. Johns Counties right from their own computers, wherever they are,” says Freeman. “It’s the first time that live Internet bidding has been incorporated with the more traditional live audience bidding in Northeast Florida.”
Freeman first experienced this incredible marketing tool at the International Auctioneering Championship in Pittsburgh last summer. While participating in this showcase he auctioned merchandise to bidders who tuned-in via the Internet to compete against a live audience.
“There were several hundred bidders in the room, but there were several thousand participants from places as far away as California and overseas,” says Freeman.
The ultra hot Northeast Florida real estate market has sparked investors’ interest. County Property Appraisers have recently documented astounding increases in market price as explosive growth moves toward rural areas of North Florida.
“This is an exciting time in the real estate market,” adds Sonia Blake, a Realtor on the Good Earth team. “We can now bring the world, with thousands of buyers, right to our front door.”
